As far as inductions are concerned the truth is that there is no such thing as ‘Stage’ hypnosis or hypno ‘therapy’. These describe where the art is being done and the target it is being used for but not what it is.

Hypnosis is hypnosis, and an induction is anything that produces that state.

Hypnosis, regardless of the approach or technique you decide to use, requires that your hypnotees are using their creative abilities and have, for the moment, put aside any limiting factor supplied by their conscious brain, allowing them to accept your suggestions by focusing their mind on you and you alone. They have a single thought and that is focused internally and is guided by you. That doesn’t mean that the mind or subconscious doesn’t make choices. Of course it can. And as you’ll see when we discuss suggestion, it’s up to you what those choices are. It just means that for the time they are hypnotised only the internal reality is important.
